Monuments recall the German-Danish War

During the German-Danish War, there was a battle in Oeversee on 6. Februar 1864 between Danes and Austrians allied with Prussia. To commemorate this gruesome and deadly battle, three monuments were later erected near the Sankelmarker See. Among other things, stones from the graves at Munkwolstrup were used for this purpose. The wounded were then cared for by citizens of Flensburg. To this day, an annual Oeversee March from Flensburg to Oeversee takes place on the 6th of February to commemorate this event.
